I need to increase my sales or I will lose my job

Q: I have just finished going through the home study program (Ultramind) and am going back to perfect the techniques….I haven’t really seen many results…I am somewhat in need of a new career and greater income…my field is sales and I am programming myself to earn $10,000 or more per month…I need a buddy or coach to bounce off ideas and questions as well as pray or program with. Can you help me out.

A: Thanks for writing. Question: When you refer to the "home study program," do you mean the UltraMind ESP System published by Nightingale Conant? With Michael Wicket, JoNell, Pepe, and Ed?

Also, when you say "going through" it, what exactly do you mean: How many times have you practiced the Long Relaxation Exercise? What kind of results have you had with the MentalVideo?

This is where I am. I have lisened to all of the CD's. I have been going to level with no problem. Long and short. I have noticed that the techniques are designed to program my mind to do or understand the processed. What I am doing now is mainly the Three screens. I am having more of a challenge in visualizing a screen in front of me, so I am trying to think myself in a movie theatre with a big screen and seeing my current situation (low sales at work on the verge of losing my job) to working successfully and combining various other opportunities to work with other companies or starting my own business in financial sales to visualizing myself as very successful and accomplished.

I have experienced the Mental Video but have not picked up a diffenent direction to focus on (concerning career). Either I need to perform with $15,000 in sells at my current job by the end of this month or start all over somewhere else.

I am seeking guidance and clarity of purpose to throw my faith into.

Have you accumulated a total of 10 hours of practice with the Long Relaxation exercise? That was Mr. Silva's recommendation, in order to establish your level and be able to activate your mind and function at the alpha level. Without training, most people will come back to beta when they activate their mind.

If you can find a copy of our Sales Power book, there are many good suggestions in there for applying our System to sales. It is out of print, but it shows up often on the eBay auction. You can also get the "book on tape" version, published by Harper Audio. It is shorter, but still valuable. You can order it from Amazon.com. The 3 Scenes Technique is for correcting problems. Mr. Silva never intended it for setting goals. You can enter your level and analyze your performance for instance, and determine what you need to do to be more effective.

For example, many sales people don't close, or give up after just one attempt. If you determine, at your level, that you are doing then, then you can use the 3 Scenes Technique to program yourself to remember to ask the customer to buy at least 3 times or 5 times, or whatever is appropriate.

An even bigger problem for the typical struggling sales person is not finding out how to best serve the customer. We had a chapter or two in the Sales Power book about asking questions and eliciting information about what the customer wants and needs. You can program yourself to do this... to ask a lot of relevant quesitons (be sure to ask the cusotmer if it okay to ask these questions, and tell them why: "In order to help you be in a better position to determine for yourself, how this product could help you, is it all right if I ask you some questions about yourself and your work?") and be sure to listen to the answers.

This is the fundamental approach that Mr. Silva took in everything. We don't manipulate people in order to get what we want. Higher intelligence certainly isn't going to help you to do that.

He had a simple formula for "prosperity." He said if you need more money, then program yourself to give more service, and keep in mind what your needs are, "plus a little bit more."

He had a formula for gettng a million dollars:

If you need a million dollars, he said, then program to give ten million dollars of service to humanity. Then, when you've done that, if you need a million dollars, you'll get it. Not if you just want it, but if you need it.

He believed that we were sent here to planet earth for a purpose, and that purpose is to correct problems and improve conditions on the planet. When you are doing that, you can ask for help from higher intelligence and receive it.

But only for that, he added. He explained that if you ask for a Rolls Royce and you already have a Rolls Royce, and you just want to have another one, you aren't going to get any help. If you already have a wife and you want a girlfriend too, you aren't going to get any help from higher intelligence.

The greater your need is - meaning: the more people who will benefit - the more help you will get from higher intelligence.

Which brings us to his favorite formula of all:

Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven - which he interpreted as being the alpha dimension (get those 10 hours of practice with the Long Relax), and function within God's righteousness - do what higher intelligence sent you here to do (which is to correct problems and improve conditions on the planet), and (then as a result of doing that) all else will be added unto you.

For a long time, we've been taught just the opposite: We've been taught to decide what we want ($15,000 a month for instance), and then work and program to get what we want, and then remember to tithe - to give 10 percent back to charity.

The formula that Mr. Silva went by was exactly the opposite of that.

Through the years, a lot of people have called the office wanting to know how to program to win the lottery. I finally started asking them: If I knew how, what makes you think I'd tell you! First of all, they need to call somebody who has demonstrated that they can do it... repeatedly.

All of those people, of course, are willing to give a large percentage of their "winning" to help others... after they win the lottery.

That doesn't mean a thing. Everybody will make that promise. That doesn't mean they'll do it.

How do we know which ones would actually do that?

The only way to tell is... to look at their history. What have they done in the past? What have they done with what they already have?

Have they been giving 10 percent to help others? Or more?

"Function within God's righteousness, and (then) all else will be added unto you."

Go back and listen to the second CD, and the third one. I tried to explain these things very early in the program, because they are so important.

When you start doing more for your cusotmers - getting them the best deal possible, selling them what's best for them and not what will make you the largest commission - when you earn a reputation for helping your customers, then the word will spread and people will want to buy from you.

And when you are correcting problems and helping to improve conditions on the planet - when you are closely following the Laws of Programming - then higher intelligence will make sure that you have all of the material things that you need... as well as the guidance and support... so that you can continue to do this. It is what they sent you here for, and of course they will support you when you are doing your job.

Intuition can be a valuable tool to use to help you do this. The only way we can be sure that you can develop your use of intuition in a controlled manner is to take the course - to study with a live Instructor. A CD player doesn't have a mind, a book doesn't have a mind. An Instructor has a mind. When you take the course with a certified UltraMind Instructor, then your Instructor's mind serves as a role model and guides your mind to do certain drills ("mental gymnastics" is how Mr. Silva sometimes referred to them) to establish points of reference in the subjective (non-physical, mental) dimension so that you can then project your mind to detect information that you can use to help you make better decisions and correct problems and improve conditons on the planet.

The home study course provides a sample, and offers some suggestions to help you develop as much intuition as you are able to on your own. For more, you need to take the course.

The MentalVideo will work for everyone, whether they have taken the course or not. If you can go to sleep, it will work for you... just follow the directions.

It is best if you know how to go to alpha. Alpha is the strongest brain frequency. That's because there is the least impedance at the alpha level, in that part of the brain. It is the most efficient circuit in the brain, and therefore the best for thinking.

Alpha is also the connection to the right brain hemisphere, which is where we receive intuitive information. When you develop your intuition, then you will be able to detect even more information, which you can then analyze at the alpha level, and use to make decisions and correct problems.

Right now, provide all of the information that you can to your tutor, via the MentalVideo, and then during the next three days "look" for indications of how to proceed. You may get help and encouragement to keep doing what you are doing, or you may encounter "obstacles" that indicate you should go in another direction. If necessary, you can confirm them by using the MentalVideo again, so that you are sure of what the guidance means.

The "indications" will be physical, in the "real world." The word "look" means to "use your physical eyesight," according to the dictionary. We are not talking about a feeling or a hunch or an idea; look for objective indications.

This is just like any other skill: You need to practice and develop it. Mr. Silva advised us to use our successes to build a ladder to even greater success. All you need is one small success to get you started. Go to alpha and review it. Every time you go to alpha and review your success, it is like having another success. And the more successes you have, it builds your confidence and the more successes you are likely to have in the future. So... practice the Long Relax. Review the 2nd and 3rd CDs. At alpha, think about the Laws of Programming, and also the final statements in the course: ("You will continue to strive to take place in constructive and creative activities to make this a better world to live in, so that when we move on, we shall have left behind a better world for those who follow....") Think about what an unselfish statement that is.

One of the magical things about the taking the course is that when people learn to function at the alpha level, and learn to use the right brain hemisphere to detect information - which is done via the "mental projection" drills under the guidance your an Instructor who's mind already knows what to do - then you experience the subjective connection that we have with everything and everyone, and you come away with a different attitude, a different way of looking at things.

When you do that, you don't want to hurt anybody, you want to help. You don't want to gain at somebody else's loss, you want to gain while helping them to also gain.

If you will focus on these things, and use your abilities to find better ways to serve your customers, to help them get what they need, then you will do fine.
